I painted this in watercolours for a friend and just slapped the paint on without drawing the picture first to try something different and this was the result.

Thanks Amy. Have you tried to have a go at painting or thought about going to classes? You meet lots of different people with different styles of artwork. I went to an evening group a very long time ago. I have always been able to draw and paint right from a little child.

I'm useless Linda I'm alright at making things embroidery etc. but not drawing , my husband is good also the grandsons brought their drawings to show me at Christmas time I thought they were brilliant so maybe his talent has rubbed off on them with luck :o)

Crikey...that's good, particularly having not drawn an outline first.

Thanks Paul. Just seen the little dog and his owner. He was thrilled with the picture.
Amy you obviously enjoy your embroidery work and that's what's important. Lovely that the children, and your husband enjoy their artwork. It's good to encourage youngsters to try their hand at different skills as well. (perhaps embroidery, or tapestry.) I bought Gerry a tapestry kit one Christmas and he did it very well. It is a cushion cover now. He also has had a go at embroidering a picture with the old alphabet on and the four seasons of the year. Now hanging on the kitchen wall.

Very spontaneous and lifelike Linda. Pays to try something new from time to time.

Thanks Dorjac. It is better for me to wait for the right light to paint in and the days have been very drab.

Brilliant Linda! i am also having a first attempt at painting without drawing first. But mine's a landscape. This is really good though...you have captured that JRT character!
