They are falling faster than I can sweep them off. lol

They are falling faster than I can sweep them off. lol

The Silver Birch tree is shedding its leaves quickly, swept them onto the borders off the grass paths, but lots more to come down, must have been a good year for leaf growth.

Yes, I've just had a reckie of all the detritus in my golden border. Quite a few weeds too. Hope the ground dries a bit as its too muddy to walk on at the moment, and I need to get in amongst it and pull all that rubbish out. Mostly Ash foliage which is heavy and has thick stems. Not like Birch leaves at all.

yes Ash is horrible but the Magnolia is like leather when it falls, not looking forward to that leaf drop. Will leave it on the ground until end January/February and then rake it off so I can see the snowdrops.

Looks like we are all in the same boat at the moment! Keep the rake handy at all times!

Yep we certainly are, we have a battle on our hands against the fall lol :O)

The lawn rake is certainly going to be the most useful tool in the garden just now.

Certainly will be :O)

Same problem here 2 very large silver birch, and an enormous Ginko to contend with, decided to make some leaf mould, being as we have so many leaves this year..?☺

All I seem to get are the ash :( they make the paths very slippy. Do they even make leaf mould?

suppose they are a bit leathery but should break down eventually.

I have a whole load of rotting hawthorne foliage from the hedge on my grass. Its just been too wet for working outdoors, and we're now on to the sixth decorating day tomorrow. I dont know if I will be able to save the grass this year. :(

Hawthorn is a pain to get up too, its so small. Think I would buy Scott a garden blower/vacuum he would love another big boys toy. Maybe a good idea for a Christmas pressie. lol.

We have a vacuum, but its not up to much unless the leaves are bone dry. It clogs up every 10 seconds.

yes I know and the one I bought is brilliant if you are a heavy weight lifter, it showed it with a wheel on the nose when I bought it (in the adverts) but when it arrived it had not got one so has to be carried and I am afraid it is just too heavy for me. I did complain but to no avail.
