We have lived in the same house for 40 years, near the coast in West Lancs, but I have really only become passionate about gardening in the last 15 years. Now the garden is a constant work in progress, and I get much pleasure from it. My husband is supportive and encouraging but no gardener! So I have great fun pleasing myself. Luckily for me, the soil is light! I am fairly laid-back about self-seeders and am lucky to have plenty of wildlife, backing on to a school site which is run like a nature reserve.
