Thank you Louisa it is growing in amongst wallflower plants which are hemmimg it in but should also protect it from the birds that tear all yellow flowers to shreds.

Thank you Surreylad. It is very similar in shape and height to the Iris reticulata which I have in the garden.

It is Crissue. I was surprised to see it had closed up a bit yesterday while all the other reticula types once open stay open.

These can take a long time to re flower and this is the only one of 20 bulbs planted in 2011 to flower this year so far. I bought them in B&Q in January 2011. In 2012 I had a few flowers. I think I might see a few popping up in odd places as the compost in the pots they were growing in will have been used elsewhere. They do not like to be disturbed so I will be more careful of this one now I know where it is. It is only 5" tall. Lemon yellow with green spots on the falls.
