Floods Yesterday!

Floods Yesterday!

Im one of the lucky one's, some in our street were flooded inside there homes, cars, sheds etc, the rain went into my borders but i dont know if the seedlings/annuals have stayed in situ or are floating about, ill check tomorrow as the lawn is like a big soppy sponge.
The back garden is untouched apart from a large pot with an armandii in it, hub drilled more holes in and put it on pot feet, also took out most of the smelly soggy compost out. ill let it dryout for a day or 2..
I hope you are having better weather, i know ireland have had it worse than us :( freak weather this year for us all. devastating..

Oh Daisy how terrible cannot believe how bad it is where you are it it bad here but nowhere near as bad as that. We have had high winds and rain and flowers are really struggling to come out and some are getting battered by the wind. I do hope the weather gets better for everyone and that the sun comes out soon ....as I cannot wait to see pictures of your lovely garden. Take Care x

That's a right big puddle Dee...so glad it didn't come in to your house...what a relief for you. Just hope it changes soon for us all. We have only had a few puddles in the garden for a while but the ground is saturated and there are sure to be floods locally soon if it doesn't stop. Hope the borders will be ok. If it has drained away by now then there's hope! :D

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments, alls well, the seedlings havent moved! how great is that, just a bit soggy grass around the base of the raised wall and thats it so im well made up :)) the winds came yesterday (i dont know whats worse) and i had to stake and move a couple of things and thats it, as i said, im one of the Lucky one's,
Now if i could just move or stake a couple of family members that cause me stress life would be perfect lol..

Hi Dee. I was just going to post something of my own on these lines, when I just saw on BBC National News (Hey, they know we exist, lol) that a caravan park about half a mile down the road from us, in Cayton Bay, had been flooded, and I noticed your photo so thought I would give my condolences here. May need your condolences in a few hours but for now, apart from a road about 100 yards away looking wetly sick, we are looking OK. Fight the good fight etc. and good luck. Wish me the same. :o (. Won't put a 'like' on this for obvious reasons.

I saw the flooding at Cayton Bay on tonights news,Sarra..so bad...stayed there once ,a long time ago,so know your coast well..hope all goes well for you,and the flooding starts to subside..must be an awful situation to be in...also saw Prince Charles was at Hebden bridge today..it's still in dire straits feom their flooding, two weeks ago..so today's downpour has just added to the problem....in our Colne Valley,we had 55mm today..10 hours worth..good job we hadn't planned to take our grandson to feed the Ducks at Marsden..the river was level with the road !
