I saw this plant around the edge of a lake in Devon Its so pretty but I have know idea what it is...

Looks like it is the type to be heavily scented.....although Ive no idea sorry have a look on my photos I have one you may be able to help out with ;-)

Wow look at you Dawn....nice pic...The plant reaches about 3 feet in height and its foliage is very much like an Astilbe......Sadly no perfume. Its not a Viburnum Drc I have one of those......but thanks....

Ha ha Maureen, nice to have you back btw. The only one I can think of that's similar and in flower at the moment is Joe-Pye Weed (Eupatorium purpureum) - check it out n google, maybe a variety of that.

I shall place the picture on my photos for you Maureen, it comes up for me, so must be you pc, which I got of this website of Devon Cornwall wild plants, not sure if its the same flower as yours,

Its frustrating me, this is. I've looked through aquatic marginals and I cant find it. It does remind me of the flower on the umbrella plant but of course that flowers in early Spring.
