So if I let one "starve" it'd look that good?
Mind you, we dont get enough sun!

yup, it would look like that in full sun..................shame how cruel though. I watered it immediately after this shot.

I suppose you cant really be cruel to them just to get the colour! You COULD send some of that sun over here please! Its cold & windy here!

Would you share some of your rain with her? (No doubt you will say GLADLY!!!)

You will be very unlikely to get any colouring other than green - or perhaps brown - you can imagine why brown in the cold, wet Scottish climate!

They are a lovely colour, Doon & it's a nice photo! :)

Sedums are great wee plants....

I've bought several red, brown, and other dusky shades in the past, and they always turned green. It's the same with Sempervivums. The Rain! Many Thanks for enlightening me, Doon. :-)

The best colours come from them being very dry & preferably hot! Two conditions I think are pretty scarce in Bonnie Scotland! But you could try growing them in shallow bowls with lots of gravel & very little soil & suspend a piece of glass over them to keep off the rain. Perhaps not very practical when there are children around I'm afraid!
