My nasturtiums this year were chosen to fit in with our garden theme (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"). My little sitting area, with its curvaceous, chocolate-coloured sunlounger, has been inspired by Prince Pondicherry's chocolate palace. We have also grown N. "Princess of India", and "Empress of India", as well as Calendula "Indian Prince". There is a clematis "Star of India" in there, too. My herbs are also in containers here, and include coriander and "chocolate" mint. Great place to relaxe with a botle of "Cobra" beer! Cheers!

these are lovely. Remember I am learning, are these perennials?

Thanks, ladies!

Sorry, Jean, but these are just annuals for summertime - very easy to grow from seed, and they will readily self-seed for next year. Perfect for poor soil, too. They are a favourite with cabbage butterflies, so many veggy gardeners grow them to distract the butterflies from their brassicas and other veggies.

Thanks David, will keep this in mind for next year.

You're very welcome. Good Luck with them (not that you need much!). :-)

They look very healthy - no caterpillars or blackfly allowed in your 'Chocolate Garden', David?

Haven't seen any, Spritz. May have to do with the gardens here being "plagued" with sawrms of hoverflies (so that's good). However, something is defintily nibbling at the leaves of a great many of our plants this year.
