Saturdays are usually spent gardening here but with the freezing conditions outside painting ( trying a single Sunflower in a contemporary style) and catchup were the order of the day.The afternoon was very sunny with a bright blue sky.
After a couple of hours painting I settled down to watch Monty’s American Gardens…those majestic, towering ,imposing Cedar trees in one of the gardens were so beautiful…and in another the interplay between coloured glass and plants .I could almost feel the warmth of the Californian sun.(If only!)…and then the return to 1degree!
If any of you have missed this series it certainly is a must.BBC2

I watched these when they first came out and I have to say I prefer watching him in these rather than on GW.

I've seen his tours of gardens abroad also, I'm with Ange. It's better to watch him here than on GW.
I struggle to relate to him on GW, to be honest.
I do watch Beechgrove Garden, which I find more relatable - not because I'm Scottish :-D
I just think it seems to cover things that a normal Joe Bloggs gardener does.

I too have enjoyed his tour of American gardens. I love the trees with the long drapes of fungi(?). I also like Beech Grove garden.

Yes, I watched it too Julia, gorgeous trees. They remind me of the huge ones I hugged in the Tasmanian national park. Just incredible..

The series was brilliant. Like Ange, I almost prefer Monty’s travel programmes showing such different, imaginative gardens.

I've never seen these programs, I will have to watch them on the iplayer.
We had a slight frost yesterday but glad to say it's milder this morning. It will rain later but I prefer it to frost.
