It's a nice coloured one. I keep mine in a pot which is clump forming black bamboo. I forgot his name on here he use to be the head gardener in Northumberland garden the one better known as having the poison garden his bamboo ran through all of his garden so I learned from his advise.

Are the canes usable?

Amy I will .......not that it will take any notice!
3d our black one is in a pot, about to sink it in the ground.....our other yellow has roaming rights, not near any of the neighbours!! and it will be cut around every year!!
Lindak yes the cane's are very useful....

Yes I was reading up on this one of yours it runs and hard to contain so yes a good cut round ought to keep it in check. I would love to put my black one in the ground but if I moved I could nt dig it back up so good luck with your black one I bet it will look great.
