Gone on my wish list, love the colour.

Glad you like it - and Fh, I wonder if you can get these in Canada? Some are hardier than others, but you can root cuttings easily otherwise.

I don't know Spritzhenry, maybe as an annual plant, I have never seen them though. I just looked them up in a perennial plant book I got from my mother yesterday & most of the ones that look like yours say zone 7 or higher....I am in zone 5 according to the map in the book. There were a few in there that grow in my zone but not at all like these, I wouldn't give them a second look really.

The small leaved ones are the hardiest here. I have one called Penstemon elgar 'Queen of India'. I don't know if there are any others in the P. elgar group...there might well be, though. It's a lovely deep pinky- red. 'Garnet' is a good reliable one, as well. That's a dark red.

Would they grow in Oz?

5 Aug, 2010

Only someone living there could answer that, Pip - I have no idea what your climate's like! Do you know anyone who lives there? LOL.

5 Aug, 2010

Climate: Boiling hot in summer and fairly sunny in winter. Rarely dips below 10 degrees.

Hmmm...they might not like the boiling hot bit, Pip. :-(((

Ahhh well you can't have it all... I can't afford it for one thing! lol

I wish I could send you cuttings......
