Hmmm. must find some of these they really are quite pretty..I'll bet they'd look good with campanulas...are they a plant for the front of the border?

I think that there are several very similar ones. Some have a touch of white in their throats, some don't - cheeky to give them names, really!

I've got one that looks like this. It had no name when I bought it, but I'm not sure whether one named after Geoff Hamilton would make it to Hungary!!!

Please read my blog, I've just this minute posted it! YES they do survive, the proof is to be seen in my garden, I planted out about 8 water-rooted Penstemons which are still flowering now!

I attended a talk last year where the speaker claimed the roots produced in water are not of any use to the plant when it is subsequently planted in soil or compost. Do all of the penstemons you rooted this way survive when potted up?

They are probably more often grown in the middle of a border, Lori. They tend to flop if not supported adequately, as here.
