Why are my Penstemons leaves mottled?

puddles

The new leaves coming through on 2 of my Penstemons (Fujiyama) are looking a bit mottled, I hope you can see from the photo - they are a slightly lighter green in places. I have had them since last July and had no trouble last year. They do have some aphids and greenfly (which I try to wash off). Is this some kind of deficiency? Any help would be much appreciated - Thanks.

It looks like a magnesium deficiency. a good feed would help or if you have it, a teaspoon of epsom salts in a gallon of water would do the trick too.
Had there been brown marks i would have said aphid damage.

Thanks I will get to it straight away, I don't want my lovely Penstemons to go hungry.
