Delonix, when i was given a red one a few summers back it was one piece being propped upright with sticks. it was only when i saw your pics that i realised it was a trailing plant..lol...

Sandra:

The pink variety is pretty common here. My friend gave me a cutting about 10 years ago.

Yes, it's a trailing epiphyte in nature. This is why many times it's sold in hanging baskets. Here it grows well in trees, also. :>)

I like that hot pink color, great form too. That would look great in a hanging basket. You keep it in your backyard right?

Randy:

Thanks, neighbor! This is the one that had the big buds last time you came over...it on the table in the backyard.

The red and white ones haven't bloomed yet. They do have lots of buds, though.

the slugs in Wales love my poor plant, do Californian slugs and snails like them?...i have a red on with big buds and a yellow one with smaller ones

Sandra:

Oh yes, the snails love to eat this plant especially in winter. This is the reason why it's on a table. :>)

I have a red and white variety which should start to bloom soon, too.

My neighbor has a very large yellow variety, it's incredible when it blooms.
