My neighbour brought a large load of cardboard home -

I was worried he was planning to burn it on his garden
in the heatwave. Visions of the other neighbours calling the Fire Brigade out.

So I said to him " If you dont want the cardboard, when
it rains it will tear easily. I can use it in my compost bins
and raised beds."
He came rushing round with an enormous box of it.

Said " Of course you are can have it. When you have used all that I can get you some more !"

I was wondering that, Seaburngirl. Why bring it home if he didn't need it for something? Maybe he's trying to smother some weeds out of a bed or something? I could have used it for the area I'm prepping for a wildflower 'meadow', though an old tablecloth is doing the trick now.

I dont know why he brought it home. They are Latvian, very nice couple. He just turned up with two hire vans, and put all this stuff in his brick built shed. I just laughed. I didnt laugh when I remembered how other neighbours have phoned the Police/Fire Brigade, then there has been nastiness about who did it.
Just part of the joy of buying a flat at an affordable price,
but living on the perimeter of a council estate.
Just wish the original builders hadnt stolen the top soil.
This Latvian couple have put a new fence up, and are
putting a gate in it, so the children on the other side
can come round and play with their son. Really nice, thoughtful, and cosmopolitan.
Rain forecast tomorrow, so I will be on cardboard tearing.
