Harvesting

OH decided to harvest the garlic this morning, a bit early but they were a decent size. I will plait the leaves and hang them from nails in the shed to dry off. There are a couple I can use as green garlic, a slightly milder flavour than the ones that have been dried off.

The car is packed, no point going in decent clothes as we will be staying and working one the official bits have been done.

Doubt we will touch the garden today, it will be mostly about the house.

One of the clematis we moved last year is out in bloom, I somehow have a feeling that this might be a montana, I will take a photo and see if someone can tell me. It has certainly grown since we moved it last year.

One of the other prolific climbers has deformed leaves, I have sprayed it, think it might be white fly, Once its moved I may well cut off the growth that appears to have been affected and see what happens.

I did have labels on all the clematis but of course OH did not put the labels in when he dug up the plants last year, so its largely a guessing game.

The veg plants are doing ok, the climbing beans have recovered and are standing proud once again. I will have to keep my eye on them.
