A Dull Morning

Its a dull morning in our part of Scotland. Shame as one of the local villages has a gardens open day today, I hope it clears up fot them.

I booked tickets this week for us to go to the Gardening Scotland next Sunday….Oh’s birthday present……..I hope to meet up with some local GOY members there.

It looks like we will not be out in the garden today. Having worked so hard to clear out the mess we inherited its a case now of keeping it weeded to allow the plants we have put in to grow. I totted up yesterday I think I have spent somewhere in the region of £500 on the garden since we came here. So we now have a stop on any spending on plants etc.

The vegetable garden is doing quite well except the courgette which I think is in the wrong place, I am going to try and move it if the weather improves later. We are starting to pick our first salad stuff…….OH has planted little gem lettuce in between the plants in the long plant containers, looks quite novel.

It's dull here too Csarina. I'm waiting to plant my pots and hanging baskets but far too wet at the moment. I know what you mean about spending money. Gardening is an expensive hobby...lol. I'm sure you will have it all looking lovely soon and hope to see the pics....:o)

Unfortunately its not the only expensive hobby I have the other is patchwork and quilting which I do in the winter and when, like today the weather is inclement......I have just managed to finish a pot holder, sewing the binding on, its part of a commission for a kitchen set for a friend. I have two other commisions lining up behind......so any sewing for mtself has to go by the board. I am going to take an hour or so out next week to make a bag to take to the show next Sunday. We belong to the Friends of Suntrap, so I am making a bag with a FOS embroidered pocket.

Hey ho off to do more sewing whilst its raining!!!

We had all our rain yesterday, and although its a pain, not being able to get outside, the garden is looking so lovely and fresh,as we haven't had rain for ages.
it is lovely today, sunny but very windy,so got some bits done out there.
