Thanks all, when I was a kid we never really celebrated halloween in fact it was all about apples. Where I lived it was called duckapple night. There was a program on the radio a few days ago about how whole communities come together in small town America and have street parties and home-made entertainment and theatricals much beloved by the children. Also contrary to popular opinion it isn't just about consumerism, as most make their own decorations and costumes. I used to moan about trick or treating but I won't any more. I'm going to be less curmudgeonly, that will be my New Years Resolution and yes, I'll put a pumpkin in the window:-))

Pleased you enjoyed yourself, I leave my hall light on for the halloweeners but I only had three callers.
