Grey Owl in the Clouds

Grey Owl in the Clouds

\ Had to use a machine on this one as the shoots are very tough. The foliage has a lovely scent when cut so it is a pleasant job.toI collect up the trimmings..
I bought this tree as a small specimen when I was making a collection of dwarf conifers.
The tree is called Juniperus Grey Owl to commemorate the famous Grey Owl who pretended to be a North American Indian, A film was made about him several years ago. He did much good work in helping aan improved life for the native people.
It is really a ground hugging variety of onre of the Canadian Junipers known as Red Cedar. but when I planted it I leant it against a post which carried the electric to my greenhouse.. When the post rotted this tree was already this height and I cut it more to prevent it falling over than thinking of a Cloud tree. At first I just left it looking like a table top.
