Waiting for Spring!

About this time, when spring is just around the corner, I start dreaming about what to do in the garden.
Last year I added a golden ninebark shrub and some new plantings in the front garden.
This year Im hoping to reduce some of the lawn in the front and create a new bed along the driveway, Will take some pics to share.
I used to live on Vancouver Island where you could garden almost the whole year round, but here in the Prairies the season is short and Old Man Winter hangs around for most of the year.
I do miss the Zone 8 of the Island, its very challenging to garden in a Zone 3/4! But I am learning and hope those Groundhogs are right and Spring will arrive early. Happy Gardening

I don't know what a golden ninebark tree looks like, but it does sound lovely - making and creating new beds is soooo exciting. I love planning and prepering the ground and then finding and buying/begging the plants...and planting... and watching over them like babies until they grow up! Good luck and keep us posted!
