They were cute for a couple of weeks!! then they grew and grew ate me out of house and home, made a mess everywhere. Still thats what to expect when you keep animals.

We had a couple of Black Rock chickens , they had the run of the garden , yes they did scrap up plants , they were funny as well , they loved grapes and would come tapping on the back porch door untill we opened it and gave them grapes , I still miss them . Noooo we didn,t eat them ,they died naturally :D

I've heard that ducks can be quite an asset in the garden, eating insects and chasing off small rodents etc. Maybe they could help you out.

i never had a problem with slugs or snails when i had ducks here
