Yay! We had a sunny(ish) day today..at least no rain! :)

21 Jul, 2011

YoungDee...your garden is inspirational! I remember a season or so back, you said you wanted lush and tropical..I'd say you have succeeded admirably! looks like you have a little fertilizer machine...can see the extra lush spots where they made a pit stop! I recognize them because that's how my lawn looks. (not today, however, as it's 35 Degrees Celsius..and with the humidity factor, it's the equivalent of 45 degrees!) and the lush spots are wilted and the rest is crisp.

It's looking wonderful, great design too. I can also tell your windows are cleaner than mine:-)

23 Jul, 2011

Sunnyish here this morning, but windy. had heating on yesterday!! just for an hour :)))
Yeah the grass gets tested from the dog Lori, being a bitch we get the light brown patches, but with all the rain it isn't as bad this year im happy to say.. 45degrees, wow that must be unbearable, too hot to do any gardening tho, or building in your case lol I bet you can,t stand in your greenhouse for long! Thanks for your lovely comments..
Bornagain, the windowcleaner had just been :)))

23 Jul, 2011

lol....was going to comment on your lovely, clean windows and have just seen your comment to BA....window cleaner just been! Our window cleaners do a not very good job on our windows (they are all upstairs windows so not easy for us to clean)....your photos through the window are fab. It must be lovely to look out on such a lovely garden.

24 Jul, 2011

Your garden looks great, sometimes even though its raining the garden takes on added charm, and it must be nice to sit back and gaze through the window and admire all the effort and thought that has gone into this lovely garden.

25 Jul, 2011

Thanks whistonlass/Julien for your lovely comments..

Enjoyed looking at your photos. I spotted some lovely healthy hostas in your beautiful garden - how come they are untouched by the 'creepy crawlies'? What do you use?

27 Jul, 2011

Mandy used to leave brown patches too... but I found a method to deal with it. In the high heat of summer it was hard to avoid but if I got to them right away with powdered gypsum it stopped the acidity and when watered in it would help the grass. When the area was neutralized the grass would come back very lush and green.
