September flowers

The temperature has dropped a little to around 24°C, meaning summer is over and fall flowers can come up. The first to bloom is Amaryllis belladonna. I have both a “normal” pink and a darker pink.

The white ones should be coming up soon.

Another bulb that has come up is Calostemma purpureum.

Of course it is also time for Yucca to bloom. I have it as a deterrent to the neighbor’s dog that was jumping over the wall.

One that I grow outside in the shade of a tree is Hoya carnosa. It must like it there if it flowers.

It is still daylily season for me. May was mid-season, but they just keep going on and on. Some of my favorites are, ‘Gemini Jack’.

’It’s a Real Good Feeling’

‘Sebastian the Crab’

My registration, ‘Star of Portugal’

‘Get Jiggy’

Pearl Harbor x August Frost

Eder sdlg 0009 x Strikingly Dramatic

I keep watching for the first Nerines to come up.

I love your Daylilies, except Sebastian the Crab, which does nothing for me.

The others are Beauties.

Sebastian the Crab is a very complicated form. Not only is it a double, but it is also an Unusual crispate form. It is also very large - about 8" across.

It's nice to see plants your continue flowering into the autumn.

Actually, they will flower 365 days every year. It is unusual for me to not have at least something in bloom. I added the South African and South American bulbs to achieve this. But daylilies are a year-round thing.

Great to see so many Day Lilies still in your garden, Wylie! 👍Around here they have finished for this year though there may be a few stragglers around.
