Signs of spring amongst the greyness.

Such a cheerful set of flowers you have there. My hyacinths are only just showing buds so yours are well on. you have some lovely Primula too. I wish this had smelly vision too.

I love your spring garden,Chris,and it's all starting to come to it's full potential..I think the Primulas and Polyanthus are such good value throughout the winter and spring,mine have looked cheery too.A lot of my Crocus have not shown this year,but that was probably my fault,not realising their position,when digging over ! Maybe they will be in the compost bin,so could reappear in the garden at some point in the future ! Lol .I like your selection of Summer seeds..I bought some Dahlia Tubers recently,and shall sow some single Dahlia seeds soon ..such a lot to look forward to now.:o) xx

What a lovely spring garden you have Chris ! I too love the primroses and polyanthus. Your forsythia is further ahead than mine as there are no buds yet and I bought a Daphne online last year , which was smaller than I expected ( I will stick to garden centres in future ) and is still small, no sign of any new growth either ! Mind you..I am impatient ! Hahaa!

I actually think the flowers and shrubs are coping better with this constant miserable weather than we are!! I have certainly had enough of it and if the TV weather forecasters continue to tell me about all the wet, cold weather yet to come, I might just scream ......or emigrate!!!

Chris, your photos have really cheered me up as, despite having a morning dry enough to allow the grass to be cut, hail showers are forecast for later this afternoon. If tomorrow gives us some dry weather, I shall be able to edge the lawn and then the garden will look reasonable!

Thrupennybit I do particularly like flowers which are scented! If they are scented AND pink then that is a real bonus!

They are all lovely and it is amazing what you find if you go out and look. The primroses of course are a favourite, but what a lovely patchwork the Hellebores, Fritillaries and Iris's, with all the others, make.
I agree Bloomer that bulbs are really irritating in the flower beds during the Summer and tend to get dug up several times, but a joy at this time of year. It's a trade-off!

Chris, it has stayed dry today, so far, 2.30 now and I did get the lawn edges tidied, cut back some Zebra grass and, disappointingly found three blue Festuca grasses totally dead and brown. They certainly have hated all the rain ... :o((

Honeysuckle, our beds have a lot of bluebells in them. They look lovely for a time but are a real nuisance afterwards!

Shirley, I am so glad that you were able to tidy up the edges of the lawn, it will have made a real difference.
I am sorry that you have lost those pretty grasses though. I hope that everything else has survived the huge amount of rain that we have had.
