The Greek Island of Paxos in September.

Paxos is a small Greek island not far from Corfu. We have been there before but not in September. We had wonderful weather and a really enjoyable holiday, but it is definitely more beautiful earlier in the year – May is perfect!

However, I did manage to find some colourful flowers still in bloom so I hope you will enjoy seeing them. It is still a very pretty place and the local people are so very friendly and welcoming.

So, as you can see there was still plenty of colour on the island but there were very few wild flowers about……..that is except for these little gems and of course the olive trees.

As it was an island, I had better close with a glimpse of the sea which was very warm and inviting!

Fancy a dip?

Great blog Wildrose and lovely flowers, we go to Corfu twice a year and as you say the flowers and views are beautiful. As for the local people they just can't do enough for you, but also so laid back, we love it.

Great pics, Chris - thanks! I love Greece at any time of year - the natives are so friendly, the weather is perfect and the food delicious. And worth the flight to see the gorgeous Bougainvillea!

Oh, I am so pleased that you liked the photos 'coz I took the flowery ones especially for you!

We were badly bitten by mosquitoes this time and nothing we used seemed to put them off. It was a very itchy holiday!!

I did swim in the sea but only twice! I did paddle a lot though.

Beautiful, beautiful Paxos Wildrose. Your blog brought back old memories for me.
We visited there years ago, loved it & also made a trip across to Sivota on the mainland, where a few years later we had a holiday.
Greece was our favourite holiday destination for many years, Corfu especially, but we haven't been since 2009 and really doubt we shall go again now.
In my 70s I can't be bothered with all the hassle that goes with a holiday abroad, especially hanging around at airports! (& quite often THE DREADED DELAYS!!!)

..... so it's nice to look at any photos that come along of Greece, to remind me of all the wonderful times we had there.

Shirlwhirl, I so agree with you about the travelling. Our flight home was at 11.30pm and we actually arrived back at our house at 3.45 am feeling very weary indeed. I think a magic carpet would be the answer!!

It is however a very lovely place, quite remote in many ways.......our postcards posted nearly 4 weeks ago arrived on Friday!

I most certainly do fancy a dip! What a stunning place. This is definitely going to my favourites! Can you fly direct? Or do you have to board a dreaded ferry....I am the worst sailor in history! But Wow! Definitely my kind of holiday! Lucky you!

Lovely to see you here again. I hope that all is going well.

To get to Paxos, you fly to Corfu and then get on a hydrofoil to Paxos. It takes just over an hour and is usually fairly smooth!!
