Daunted!

Last year, with our next door neighbours, we acquired an area of paddock to the rear of our gardens. It contained two ramshackle old structures made out of corrugated iron, wooden pallets, bits of old iron and corrugated asbestos roofing (I can’t really call them sheds), lots of old oil drums, two cast iron baths, lots of tractor tyres, a tiny tractor, water tanks and other assorted bits of rubbish. With the exception of a few tractor tyres, one old bath and some oil drums, most of this just happened to be on our side of the land.

We demolished the larger of the two sheds back in the Autumn, and had a good few bonfires before, during and after bonfire night.

The project then lay dormant over most of the winter, and during the snowy period, we were able to forget the chaos that lay beneath the white stuff.

Now that Spring is here, we’re back on the case, with a long term plan to turn the paddock into something a little bit easier on the eye – an orchard at the back, an area to grow vegetables and soft fruit.

April’s job is to clear most of the waste. The first skip (I fear of many) is arriving Tuesday.

I will try and keep a weekly photographic and written record of our progress as the year progresses.

My that is a small tractor, I was expecting A Furgi lol What a grand idea it will look fab once the trees are in. A gentle word of warning though, the authorities charge a small fortune to remove asbestos so the less said the better.:-))
