Been out and cleared a patch of snow for the ground feeding birds, put out extra food, fruit, nuts. Filled the water dish, filled the squirrel feeder with peanuts. OH has cleared the drive and put down rock salt. Now going to make 2 cups of coffee and put my feet up, outside chores finished

Just been clearing a space for our ground feeders too,Waddy..with a good mix of meal worms, oats, sultanas and bits of bread..their morning Muesli ! :o) the snow has melted slightly, and is still very soft.. I was surprised there was no ice,so that's good...not that we are going out today !

I feel very left out! We have 3c and rain forecast!

I`m watching the birds and thinking about going down and sorting the feeders, just haven`t got around to donning my boots yet, ours was already frozen from earlier in the week so quite nasty in places, I`m getting old girls and will be pleased to see some green again.......

We'll do a swop Karen...

I've been well rewarded Bloomer had lots of birds in the garden today. Our resident Robin looked particularly lovely, standing out beautifully against the snowy background.

Old Lincslass? Never!...but do be careful if you do venture out, it's not worth a fall, even for our feathered friends.

Birds all sorted, really should do a birdwatch count today, the little mites didn`t even wait until I was back indoors, I keep putting some Mealy Worms out for my Robin but the flipping Starlings are getting there first......

I just went out to clear the snow (3pm) but thankfully it seems to be thawing out by itself and our paths have cleared. It's just the main road where the snow has compacted and frozen that doesn't look like it's going to go anywhere fast.

I'm pleased to hear someone has been outside and done some work ! I haven't been out atall, and don't intend going. I've been sorting through some stuff that came from my mother's house, I think it's going to take for ever lol :D
I hope you enjoy your cuppa :o))

Have just returned from the supermarket with a large loaf JUST for the birds - it's easier that way!

The moment we get up the blackbird is at the back door asking for his sultanas and so it goes on..........!

We love them.

Been doing the exact same thing today Waddy - I sat on a stool outside the back door and took some pics of the birds, wasn't long before my fingertips were numb!

Now that's real dedication Sue....20miles to feed the birds! I shan't feel so lazy about refilling the feeders in my back garden today now! Still no snow in Carnoustie....

I usually go out in the garden and feed the birds in my dressing gown but not for the last couple of days :)
Boots and full cold weather gear this morning!

Oh yes! I took delivery of some waterproof trousers and a waterproof jacket on Friday....there's no stopping me now...just walked the dog for an hour and then did some tidying up outside....warm as toast!

You can do anything with a decent wet of waterproofs Karen :)
I answered re snow on my blog - but yes, not much just an inch or so. Kept me late at work on Saturday morning due to runways in England being closed!!

What is your work Scottish??????

20 Jan, 2013

Bet that gives the neighbours something to talk about Gee19 lol!

Hope you've not had to put in extra work today Scottish, many airports still not back to normal yet.

OH has just pointed out it's 4.30pm and only just getting dark...the days are lengthening...spring will soon be here. :)

We haven't had any daylight to speak of at all here for the last few days, but yes, there is a difference in sunset times...even we can see that up here in Scotland :) once this horrible cold snap is over it will be quite different!

The lighter nights were apparent before this rotten weather wasn't it Karen - what a difference that make, just that extra 20 minutes or so make you feel so much better :)
Lincslass - not too much of an exciting job - I work @ Royal Mail's Scottish Air Hub based in Edinburgh Airport. We've had no problems here with the Airport, only the ones down south returning with the mail. Most people don't know that most 1st class mail actually travels by air across the country.
