This ole bird table

This started out as a bird table then I planted some semperviviums on the roof, they took ages to establish but eventually took hold.

A couple of years ago a colony of bees decided it would make a nice home albeit for a short time but they do return every year.
This year my rambling rose ( name unknown ) decided it needed to be decorated as it is looking a little worn.
I think it looks quite good at the moment needless to say the birds can’t get a look in .

You have a really artistic knack for the unusual Val..we dont see enough pics of your lovely little estate! I cant remember whether it was Dolly or Alfie who used to sleep atop this, but I guess you have a huffy pussy somewhere around lol!

Thanks Sticks, Terra and Cinders, I covered it with chicken wire, stuffed loads of moss and a little compost inside then stuck in a few plants and hoped for the best.

Margo, how lovely to hear from you, why don't you come over to Valsacres and see the real thing?
Alf and Dolly still sleep on top of another bird table.
Got a very huffy pussy tonight, Dolly got stung by a very drunken bumble bee this afternoon but she's ok now. :0))

It looks pretty :o) You've given me an idea - instead of giving my old bird table to my neighbour as fire wood for his wood burning stove, I shall plant some house leeks on it. I've got a pot of 'spare' ones that I don't know what to do with lol
Your rose looks like American Pillar ...

There aren't any superlatives left that haven't been used, so I'll just say brilliant, Val, looks great.

Hywel I nearly chopped mine up as it was falling apart but stuck it together with no nails and now the roof is protected with the plants, thanks for the name you might be right.
Thanks Pam, Lil and Bamboo.
Praise indeed from Brian, come and collect cutting whenever.
Margo , will consult the oracle and get back to you, have great time at D.A.

A great recycling idea for the birdtable. The rose poking through it sets it of a treat! :-))

Thank you so, Balcony and Lily.
