Aargh!

What a day on Saturday! V. windy although dry (which was brilliant) but so windy it blew our parasol over (Stephen won it in a golf comp.& it’s way too big for our garden) – I heard it go but didn’t have time to go & sort it out – when I eventually got out there I could have screamed – I’ve got a row of pots growing Aubergines, Peppers & Chillies & the flippin parasol had landed smack on top of every one of the 6 pots!
Just to add insult to injury I’ve realised this morning that the Squirrel has stolen every one of the 6 hazelnuts on the Twisted Hazel!
Ha! the joys of gardening!

Oh no! the wind is our biggest bugbear in our garden...it causes some real heartache with the havoc it wreaks sometimes so I know how you feel. Hope it didn't snap off too many peppers etc.

I bet Mr S was very appreciative of your 6 nuts!!

Sometimes it's just one disaster after another :o(
I hope you can save some of your plants.

The really annoying thing was that I knew the parasol was 'dangerous' when it's windy & it just didn't register where it might fall! Also all those plants had been grown from seed & given to me by a friend earlier in the Summer & I just know she'll ask me for a progress report :((
Hmm, shall I cheat & go & buy replacements? Better not because she'd suss me out eventually (& I probably wouldn't be able to find any now)!
Valuable lesson learnt!
As for the nuts - se la vie!

How frustrating! The wind is not much of a friend here, either! We get the prevailing westerlies and they can be quite strong at times.
