My youngest daughter Sarah was married on the 5th November 2009. It was a lovely wedding that went off so well that we all thought that nothing could go wrong. It was a Thursday and they flew to St. Lucia for their honeymoon early on Friday morning. Jean and I were left in charge of Sarah’s two pussa cats who have stayed with us on many occasions since they were kittens. They go into the garden and explore and seem to enjoy themselves and come in as soon as they are fed up or are exhausted. They have stayed with us many times with no restrictions and no problems many times. This time poor tilly managed to get herself stuck in a sofa bed for three days until I managed to find her. I even had to cut the back of the bed with my knif to extricate her. Her experience was not a happy one and once released from her encarseration she didn’t settle and managed to escape through a fanlight window while jean and I both slept. You can imagine how upset Sarah was when she returned from he honeymoon today, but having seen Tilly outside the patio doors only the night before last I tried to convince Sarah that we would soon have her back.
Can you imagine our delight that about 19:30hrs tonight Sarah was reunited with her wayward pussa cat!
I am so pleased that words are not adequate so I won’t waste them.
Below is a pic of the ad I put in the Local shop.
Jean and I had also put posters on anytrhing that would stay still enough.
What a stressfull couple of weeks bvut what a wonderful outcome.
I gave up trying to include the photo as although I kept trying to include a photo, it didn’t happen.

So pleased you have found the cat its so upsetting when they are missing. You must be relieved too - tough time you had. Fingers crossed the other GOY member's cat will turn up soon?

I'm pleased that all's well that ends well Alan ~ when we were looking after Dex Andrew took him and our dogs onto the golf course late at night and lost him for half an hour or so~can't tell you how relieved we were to find him okay as the road is quite busy and he doesn't have a lot of road sense! Phew! know how you feel!

Its funny how they love sofas crawling underneath them yours was a great out come, am glad Tilly is ok and they are not unlike children when they go missing you always think the worst. I had a kitten that done that with a sofa and got crushed to death when my brother in law sat on it, so you do have to watch them.

The old pusscats have a habit of going AWOL when they've had a fright, don't they ?
So glad that it's a happy ending and she's reunited with the newlyweds. Best Wedding present that they had I'll bet :~)))

Poor cat! I can imagine how frantic you were!
Alls well that ends well though, which is great! Amazing how cats can make it YOUR fault that THEY did something stupid, isnt it?
Best wishes to Sarah & her husband.

Well, thank goodness that had a happy ending! PS Hope the wedding went well and that they enjoyed their honeymoon.

Glad this story had a happy ending Toto, it's amazing that they normally stay with you and are OK. I never imagined that cats, unlike dogs, would do that. I guess it's because you have always done it and they are used to the surroundings. She got scared but knew where she was well off!

Pleased the wedding went well, best wishes to the newly-weds!

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments. I think she must have got into the sofa bed before my brother closed it up after sleeping in it on the Thursday night. We use the room all the time as it is where all my books and the computer and art things are. I heard nothing until the night we got her out and then it was only a slight sound of movement. We never heard her cry.
As you have all said, all's well that ends well.
Thank you all for your good wishes to Sarah, I will oass them on when next I see her.

I'm so pleased everything turned out well in the end. What a worrying time, poor Tilly and poor you two. Cats do get into trouble dont they, years ago we had a house on a half finished estate and our kitten must have been exploring in one of the houses and the joiners were putting floor boards down and he got trapped under the floor for a night. I hope they enjoyed the honeymoon, I've been to St Lucia and its beautiful.

Thank you Dawn. They did enjoy their honeymoon and came back with so many photos and memories of the fish, fauna and flora.

The rain forest was amazing and I saw a hummingbird :-)

22 Nov, 2009

Yes they saw two different hummingbirds. One had a green body and bluish wings and the other is, apparently the smallest of all the hummingbirds and looked like a bee. They also went into the rain forest where they saw quite a lot of wildlife and bamboos that grow about 9" a day up to the height of about 60ft..
