Hi! I'm a newbie at caring for house plants. I was given a coleus, philodendron, two tropical s (I think) and another plant that looks like a cross between a palm and something desert like. It's the one that seems sick. My biggest issue is understanding watering needs, proper lighting and temperature for each. I bought a Greenscapes water check stick, but can't figure out how deep to insert it for each type of plant. Hope this site will help me care for them. They are beautiful and as a retired person, it gives me something worthwhile to do and it's enjoyable ... I just don't want to be a plant killer!
