Hey Honey Many Happy returns - Eryngium that fella I know - it disappears in winter and comes back in spring in the shape of what looks like lettuce leaves with a little patience it comes to it’s own in September – that said my fella did not appear last year but is going great this year !!

Hi Terra - Happy Anniversary to you. Lovely bargains! I've given up on clover in my grass, it's green all year round and the bees and hoverflies love the flowers so I now leave it alone. I also figure it must fertilise the grass by fixing nitrogen.

My Penstemon is currently nameless, but the stall holder told me it is lilac-coloured with a white throat.

Happy anniversary, TT when i get clover in my lawn i just feed the lawn with any weed and feed, and i dont get any clover or weeds in my lawn, do it about once a month.

Regarding the clover, lots of blackbirds frequent my lawns, and I wonder if there might be clover seeds in their droppings where they hop about looking for worms ?

Yes thanks, everyone, my Shetland Sheepdog, Conker is doing well on his chemotherapy treatments...
There are two months left of the charity dog show season... August and September.... and Conker is now fit enough to go along and enjoy these, even though he is obviously limited with which classes he can enter...

We've already attended several of these shows, which means Conker is back doing what he likes best...
... and it's good for Truffle too... he recently won first prize in the class for Happiest Dog.... Lol...

So if I'm a little less on GoY over the next couple of months, you'll know it is the charity dog shows taking my time.... Probably I'll still manage to look in on GoY every day...

The next charity dog show season doesn't start up till about May 2010, and, although Conker is doing well on his chemo, realistically he might not be alive to enjoy those, so you can understand why we're making the most of every dog show over coming weeks...

Conker's World Wide Wagging blog will continue, giving reports on his weekly journeys to the vet clinic, where treatment should continue till around the end of October.

And in October, I'll hope to make a blog about the August and September dog shows. Quite a number of these events sell plants for charity, so I should have plenty to report. :o)

Yes I know I'm late AGAIN. You've had answers on the Eryngium. Feed and weed may get rid of the clover but with your 4 legged friends around I would suggest hand weeding LOL. would suit the problem better.

Is the Sea Holly Eryngium Planum Tt? If so, it will probably keep a lot of it's leaves. And you think it's a bargain now, but wait till year after next when you have all the freebie self seeds(prolific).

You can plant it in the garden now if you wish! Protect new shoots from slugs/snails(particularly in spring) They even grow well in my heavy clay but probably prefer lighter soil.
