About me

Been gardening with wildlife in mind, mostly without chemicals, for over 20 years - most of which in the same small garden. My soil is limey rooty flinty clay in shade on a north-facing slope. Never one to take the easy path, I am currently growing camellias and rhodos... I also have quantities of epimediums, hellebores, primroses, peonies, roses, aquilegias, foxgloves, miniature spring bulbs, perennial wallflowers, cyclamen, heucheras. Also buttercup, celandine, couch, petty spurge, sedge, three-cornered leek, grape hyacinth, selfheal, oxalis, sore knees and a bad wrist.
