The Frustrated Gardner

I’m so glad I found GOY it’s keeping me sane at the moment. I ‘m banished to the living room at the moment I can only look longingly at the garden and the work to be done.
My Vegetable plot is producing an abundant amount of weeds and I can only see half the bulbs I planted last year from the vantage point of my put -u -up bed.
Having just had my Achilles tendon repaired I have got to keep off my foot for 6 weeks. How I long to get my fork out and dig and construct my raised beds. Plant seeds, weed and get that feeling of delight as I spot green shoots poking through the ground.
Oh well thank you all for keeping me sane looking at your blogs and answering some of the questions and sharing your enthusiasm with me.
Happy gardening.

Frustrating Sueb, when the mind is willing but the body weak! I am sure several of us have been there, for various reasons! Keep cool and plan lots to keep your head busy, don't get about too soon or 6 weeks will become a lot longer!
Welcome to GOY!

Thank you all so much for your kind messages I know the next 6 weeks will go by quickly with my new found friends
Thank you again Sue B :O)

So sorry to hear you are laid up Sue. You do just as the doctors recommend and stay off that foot. If you push it and put weight on it too soon it will just make your healing longer. It will be no time at all before you are out there in your garden. And by then, the weather is sure to be better too. Get well quickly....Gilli :o)

hi sueb, having had surgery on a joint problem last october [suffered for 18months] follow all physio instructions, dont try and sneak off into the garden too soon as it will only put you back. enjoy planning what you will do when fully up to speed and read about all our antics. i wish i had found this site earlier. wishing you a speedy recovery.

I promise to be good and do as I’m told. Just had the stiches out, every day will be a day closer to getting down the greenhouse where I’m told there is something green poking out in a pot on the bench when quizzed as to which pot I was told the black one with the green thing poking through poor lamb he’s an engineer not a gardener!!

24 Feb, 2009

Have the lamb carry it up to you to see it...he is trying to torture you for sure..! LOL...Hope you are out there gardening soon....ouch... achilles tendon...ouch...sorry...

27 Feb, 2009

Hi Catfinch~ I asked the lamb to bring the black pot with the green thing in so I could have a look, after a few grumbles and groans off he trotted returning a few moments later with said pot. To my utter delight it’s the Eremerus (foxtail Lilly) I rescued from my mother-in-laws garden just before she moved house. It’ now about 2cms high and looking good,

Yay!!!!! ....was lamb less grumbly after seeing your delight!

27 Feb, 2009

Oh Yes! It must have done some good he's been out in the garden working since 9am this morning. :0)

28 Feb, 2009

Oh..now he really is a lamb..has he brought any more pots in to show you?

28 Feb, 2009

Yes! I have seen the pot of black tulips planted last year. He asked, “What weeds are these?” now he’s busy laying power and water into the greenhouse. I think he is hoping once I am on my feet I’ll be down there night and day! I’ll try and get a photo when he’s not looking.

28 Feb, 2009

Well..now this achilles tendon business is a bit far to go to get water and power into your greenhouse..LOL..but at least some good will come of it!...Glad he asked about the weedy looking tulips..LOL..oh my..lol..would love to see pics...

28 Feb, 2009

LOL...glad you got your kitchen finished and power and water to your greenhouse...goodness..if you have to stay off your foot much longer..what else will he find to do!...saw the picture..glad for you! Sweet lamb..too... :o)
