New toy!

All my gardening life I have thought lawn edging shears were an unnecessary “extra”, although my edges were always rather on the grotty side even when newly done. But I went round a four acre garden last week with our little gardening club and found that the owner edged half a mile of borders in two and a half hours that way- and they were immaculate! So I went and treated myself. Wow! Life changing moment. Went out right away and got started and finished the lot just before I got too tired. And it all looked better than it ever did using the halfmoon or the strimmer and it was actually a lot easier. (Not immaculate but lots better)

I guess most of you knew this all the time, but for me the new moral is, don’t begrudge splashing out on something that will make your life a lot easier – I wish I’d done it years ago!

Well done . It always makes a lawn look better when it is edged but i find it makes my arm ache so seem to a bit at a time as we have 2 large lawns and by the time i have finished it all its ready to be cut again so i never seem to catch up.

I'm one of those strange people who actually enjoys edging the lawns - and we have a big garden! It makes such a difference to the 'look' of a garden when they're done. Keep snipping, Steragram. lol.

Don't blame you, . I have edged most of my lawns with a brick edge so that the lawn mower simply runs over it and more recently half the garden now has an automated watering system - its wonderful and really does make life a lot easier although it feels like a waste of money with all this rain cann't wait to do the other half.

Well Hywel they do look better than they did before but they would look better if I got around to a bit of weedkilling - I think they must have used turf from a meadow.
Spritz, you can come down and do mine any time!
Kf, great - I'm all for labour saving!
Rose - stick with it - I'm sure your muscles will grow in time!
