Cold past...so did the rain.

Exactly two weeks now since we had rain. A wet December with 150% of normal rain..a January with 0% of rain. A week ago I meant to take a photo of a local creeks waterfall. Today, its more a steady trickling over the rocks.
Plant wise? Not much to report. Its still too cool for any major growth from tropical’s- heck, even temperate’s are still budding. Chinese fringe is one of the first exotic bloomers, I see Acacia all over town puffing up with soon to be clouds of yellow..but not yet now.
I really like that month of subtropical rain..not cold and plenty of water. Two months of that in one year is asking too much it seems.

On the east USA we are going down to 0 F with wind gusts to 40 mph and had light snow yesterday. Just shut down the pumps in my ponds last night. The air pump bubbilizers are doing their job keeping openings in the ice for air exchange in the ponds. My pups are doing their business outside at warp speed. On the east were into winter now though for a while it looked like it was going to be not so bad. Now we are just waiting for the nor'easters to run up the coast and hoping we don't get smacked too hard with those.

We're concerned about the jetstream at the moment, storm force winds from the atlantic......

Here in Scotland we are expecting winds 70 to 100 mph tonight. In Glasgow it is 70 but in the north at least 100. I hate wind and the destruction it causes. It has to replete this weather pattern again within the week. :0/

AHG! Temperatures and winds we never have. I was kind of disappointed we didn't break 70f.
Still, drought might top all..in a way. We all need water.

Water in Glasgow is definitely not an issue. We are famed for our rain.

I hope you have a nice spring. It makes one feel better when spring plants start to bloom, doesn't it :o)

We get plenty of rain in Wales. I don't mind it though ...

Lots of wind here in west Wales tonight too, but nothing compared with Scotland. Rain is something we are rarely short of here!
