Went to Lidl today and saw they were selling seeds well havent tried them before from here but thought i would pass it on as they are so reasonably priced.
Packs of veg and flower seeds 29p each or 2 for 50p, I picked up lettuce, besson rouge and carrot, nantes also french marigold and nasturtium seeds as I’m trying companion planting this year in my boxes. Premium packets were £1.49 and there were also strips of seeds but I cant remember the price …sorry.

Right time to get out and tidy up the front garden while its warm ….
Happy gardening xx

I have bought the 29p packets before and they were very good Carol In some places seeds are very expensive and I,m not convinced that they are any better good luck with all yours :-))

I`ve bought from them and they have been as good as any others, some places the prices are ridiculous, so each packet that saves me a few pence means an extra packet of something else....

Cool, so glad to hear they are good ones , I may go back for a few more packs.... means my garden costs even less to fill this year :)

I have tried seeds from Lidl and they grew well - can't actually remember what they were lol.

I wish Lidl sold seeds online: I'd save a fortune. Seeds in general are getting so expensive, and the numbers in the packets are going down and down (sneaky, that) and on top of that, the postage charged is outrageous. Expensive hobby, gardening, isn't it? I bet no-one on GoY begrudges it though. Where else can you get therapy so cheaply?
Welcome to the site, Carol.

Sometimes I see an elderly lady in her front garden when I am walking my dog, she had a wonderful display of flowers last year and I asked her what they were. Chinese Asters she replied, she'd bought the seeds from Lidl last year and just scattered them on the soil and left them. She didn't think they'd do any good and was so surprised at how lovely they were. They were flowering for months and I still have many lovely conversations with her about them and the rest of her garden :)
