Iris Crosses Flowering 2018

For my information and your pleasure, Iris crosses that I have made, flowered this year.

Some are keepers, some are not.
Some I have already used the pollen to fertilise established plants, whether they will set pods is to be seen.

The last 2, unnumbered, I put in my neighbour’s garden as I ran out of suitable space. The stripe on the last one only appeared on the terminal flower.

Please enjoy.

An impressive display. I see a few I would gladly purchase.

I agree with both above. I admire your patience! 9A is my favourite. Mind you, if that stripe on the last one had been reliable, i think you might have had a money-maker there!

What an amazing achievement . . . you must be thrilled :)

Thank you for your kind words.
Karen, 9a has been moved to the front garden. Having flowered, they will need a year or two to develop new rhizomes, but hopefully there are still some unflowered siblings in the border, but that's not to say they will be identical.
17a is my favourite, but the new rhizome is so small, I've put it into a large pot for rehab!

Must be a very satisfying achievement - and what an amazing variety. It must take a long time and lots of skill. They are lovely - too hard to choose a favourite.

Wow. They look wonderful. Like the others say, I take my hat off to your skill.

What beautiful array of colours you have bred you need a field Siris to hold them all.☺

Thank you for your comments on my abilities, but Mother Nature and the weather play a big part. Also the advent of the internet has given access to sites with such useful information.

That is a shame Iris what about a local farmer.

Gnarly, without buying. I would like the falls (any colour back ground) covered totally in small spots (eg Celestial Explosion) or completely to the edge of the falls, stripes, hence 17a.
Ps From last year's seed Iv, got a variegated leaved one off
Twice Thrilling X but it's really weak, 1/20 the size of it normal leaved siblings. Although carefully nurturing, I honestly don't think it will make it.
