New garden path . . .

but no new front wall yet! The bricklayers should be here tomorrow morning, the bricks, sand and cement are stacked up and ready for them to go, go, go!

The new path was built by the two Polish guys who erected our garden fencing, excellent work on both jobs.

Here’s the garden two weeks ago, no path to the little summerhouse, and a very old path going East to West across the garden, made of really heavy old pavers. That path had a concrete post for the washing line when we bought this place in 2001 and proved to be a so-and-so to remove.

Now there is a curving path from the block paving up to the summerhouse …

there is a very small patio area which is so much nicer than walking over the grass.

That horrible old concrete path is no more … instead we can now walk along more of the new one to the other side of the garden … bliss!

It has changed the look of the garden, we have placed 5 solar lights and a ‘spoon spinner’ with a solar light to add some interest in the evenings.

All we need now is for some warm evenings to sit outdoors and enjoy the garden.

It’s looking really attractive, Shirley. The pavers are really nice looking, love the patio shape and the path has a very nice curve to it! A job well done! It really enhances the area around the summerhouse! Lovely!!!
I hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow when your wall is being rebuilt! 🤞x

They have made a lovely job of it and it makes the garden very inviting. Yes evening warmth would be nice.

lets hope the wall gets done tomorrow, you've had a bit of a wait.

Thank you Kate, the curved path was the builders idea as it follows the curve (to the right) of a small raised bed which was, at one time, a little pond. I have to say that the 'Skip' company have been less than helpful regarding the damage their driver did.

Sbg, it was two weeks ago when the wall was demolished, but it really does seem longer. Oh well, if all goes to plan tomorrow, the new wall will have been built. If not, heads will roll ... :o(

Well that is a fairy tale transformation! You must be thrilled to bits. I recommend that while the wall is being built you spend the day in the back garden deciding finally what lovely plant is gong in a pot on that new patio. Then you can start charging admission...

That's a good-looking path. I can see why it would make the layout of the garden feel new. The men have done a super job.
Hope the front is sorted soon.

Ha ha Sue, my plan is exactly that for tomorrow. Keep occupied in the back garden, I have many pots of home grown Sweet Peas to plant, a fiddly job tying them on to canes or sticks to aid their climb on obelisks! There is also a bag of bark chippings to be spread so I shall be kept busy!

Thanks Julia, it's annoying that we have no knowledge of these workmen. Just hope they are proficient . . .

Anget, I am trying to make the garden easer to maintain as I tire easily following some cardiac events. I just find it so hard not to be able to garden for hours on end, something I always did in the past. Never mind, it could be a whole lot worse . . . :o)

The garden looks lovely and the path sets it all off, as well as making it easier to get about and keep tidy. They did a fine job, lets hope your wall builders do the same.

Thanks Honey, the wall has now been built, hooray!!

Nice one Shirley, so much nicer than a straight path and it seems to make the garden look bigger.

Hi Phyl, I hope you are feeling better now and not overdoing it! I agree about the garden looking bigger, just an optical illusion.

Thanks K . . . :o)

It looks grand Shirley, now sit, relax and enjoy....xx

Thanks Sue, I DID sit with a cuppa and a crossword for about an hour today, then planted more Sweet Peas and got really cross when I could smell a bonfire at 3pm, something I can't stand! Why light one on a beautiful sunny afternoon? Rant over!!

Such a lovely path, beautifully done. It will look really nice when rained on too.

It would annoy me as well, not supposed to light them here between 11am-7pm, we've hardly had any for donkeys years luckily but new neighbours have lots of BBQ'S in summer, that's not so bad and I really don't mind, except he has a habit of using oil to start it and creates smelly, greasy black smoke, they are good neighbours but wish he'd shout over when I've got my washing out, its always done close to the house and my lines...I'll have to educate him , lol......

Chris, you've hit the nail on the head there as it looks so different when it's wet!

Sue, I did wonder if it was a Fire Pit burning at first but this was too 'stinky' for that. You must definitely educate him asap!!
