Hail yesterday, sun today ...

Just making the most of a brief period of sunshine to show you my favourite garden plants at the moment … “don’t worry, they’re aren’t many” as our 7 year old granddaughter, Frankie, said, when she was about to read us some stories on Zoom!

White Anemones

Dwarf Copper Beech just coming into leaf

Heuchera with forget-me-nots and Sorbaria Sem

New bird bath – love it :)

My favourite pink/purple Anemone with pale blue Phlox subulata and new Viola ‘columbine’

It’s a shame I couldn’t get a better close up of the Phlox as it really is a mass of pretty blue, and goes beautifully with the Anemone! Maybe another day …

A pretty collection, Sheila! Loving the new bird bath too!

Thanks so much Eileen, Sue and Kate. I guess it will take a few days for the birds to find their new bath ...

Sheila, looks like you fared OK from the hail. My garden was shredded a few times already. I love the colorful leaves on your Copper Beach - a real stand out. Hope you enjoyed the stories on Zoom!

Thanks Paul, yes, luckily the hail here was quite brief ... so sorry your garden has suffered. Zoom is such a blessing - like many, weโ€™ve no idea when weโ€™ll get together again ๐Ÿ™.

I love the Anemone's too,Sheila,and I'm sure your pretty bird bath wont't be long,before it's in full use :o)
Looks like Heuchera and Forget me nots are this years 'must have' ,as I've been admiring a similar combo on one of one of Shirley's photo's .:o) I love the Copper Beech too.x

Lovely photo's Sheila, the weather is erratic to say the least, I swear we're going backwards, we definitely needed the rain but the snow , hailstones , frost and very high bitterly cold wind was not appreciated one iota...

Thanks very much Sandra and Lincs ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚

All is looking very nice Sheila, I love your new birdbath . Birds are pretty smart, they will find it in no time and it is real fun to watch them.

Ditto, all the above. The hail was a bit surprising, but it melted as soon as it hit the ground & watered the garden nicely. My cat shot under the bed when she heard the thunder. It's taking ages for things to get growing again after being cut back by the frost.( all the Sages).

Sheila, I see what you mean about the combo. of dark Heuchera foliage and the blue of the Forget-me-nots . . . very pretty. The new bird bath is just gorgeous . . . I bet the birds are going to enjoy it!
We currently have a pair of Magpies visiting daily, I don't mind them, but I'm not keen on their habit of dunking bread into the dish of water . . . messy so-and-so's!

Thanks Klahanie, yes, we watch the birds a lot ... great fun as you say, especially recently watching baby dunnocks and a young robin.

Thank you Josee ... yes, the rain was welcome ๐Ÿ™‚.

Thanks very much Shirley - that is a pretty accidental mingle that we both have! I have just been sitting in the garden with my coffee ... before I came out I saw the robin having a drink, then in spite of my presence Mrs blackbird has also just had a few sips. Iโ€™m delighted ๐Ÿ™‚.

Love your cheery photos good job you didn`t get any damage with the horrible weather but on the good side we desperately needed the rain, wouldn`t it be lovely if we could just order it for late nights. Your bird bath is very appropriate it looks great.

That's great news Sheila . . . we have a Robin who likes to perch on top of a garden chair and stare through the window at us! Cheeky little bird . . . :o)

Thanks very much Phyl, yes, overnight rain would certainly suit us gardeners!

Robins are so tame, Shirley, thatโ€™s lovely ๐Ÿ™‚. OHโ€™s aunt used to have one visit her daily and heโ€™d tap on her window when he thought his breakfast was a bit late!

That's wonderful! :o)
