For Hywel, Clematis Sieboldii

i think it was Eileen (Seaburngirl) who said that this colouring is normal … some flowers all cream, and some with purple centres.

This wasn’t showing any sign of life after I cut it back down to 6 inches as instructed in April. Then in mid-May it suddenly took off and seemed to grow a little each day. So relieved to see it happy!

I happened to have this photo on my desktop because our elder son, Mike, will be 50 next week. His wife has been asking 50 friends and relatives to post relevant photos on Facebook, so I have posted this of Mike on his first birthday. A neighbour at the time said to me “I’d have another if I could have one like that!” Bless him :)

Feverfew asked for a pic of a more mature Mike. This is on his wedding day in 2008 (with us!).

That is a very attractive clematis Sheila, and fancy some missing out on the purple. You know, I have Clem Niobe and this year lots of the purple petals have stayed green, it's never happened in other years.

Oh he's lovely, he looks like you..:))

Lovely little boy( he was)! Can we see him at 50? Nice Clem too, interesting variation in the flowers.

Thank you Janey. That’s strange about your Clem.

Well, most people say that Mike and OH are very alike, but I do have chubby cheeks, ha ha. A neighbour at the time said “If I could have one like that I’d have another!” Bless him.

Don't know if it was me but mine certainly did that but I lost it years ago. I might be tempted with another if we get access to the old drive way that runs down the back of our home.

handsome lad. where does the time go though?

How strange, I've never seen that happen to mine. I hope it does :)
Thanks for showing it.

Nice to see the three of you together …
the photo of your son as a little boy is sideways on my computer but the right way up on my laptop … that's very strange too.

Thanks Hywel.

The orientation of the pic of Mike is what happens to me too! Because the photo is “portrait” I turned the camera sideways and this is what happens ... I think to other Goyers too

It must be my computer. It's the right way up on my laptop :)

Lovely clematis, Sheila, I do like the colour! Also, lovely pic of you and your husband and son. I’m joining the ‘50’ club later in the year :-D

Many thanks Kate ... I love it too. I wonder how you’ll celebrate? On my 50th my husband said we were going out for lunch - in Geneva! (and forgot the time difference, so we took our table in the restaurant at 11.30!). 🙂🙂.

Thanks Ff ... yes, Mike is very happily married to Gabriella, who is lovely, and their girls are adorable - Chiara, 9, and Frankie (Francesca), 6. He loves being a dad, and is looking forward to them baking a cake for him next week.
