I looked at the moon also. It had a lovely rainbow halo, then a big dark area in a ring, surrounding that. I tried to take a pic with this IPad, but no detail shows in photos taken after dark.

Yes...it was a very clear night here Christmas Eve, too so I should think Santa gave Rudolph the night off!

Hope you're enjoying the holidays Sheila, I can't believe how quick the days have gone! x

Just what I was thinking Janey - so true! We Skyped the DownUnderlings FAR too early this morning . . . a phone call at 6.50 am, so before 'the girls' went to bed, and before we were awake! But of course it was lovely to see them playing: little Frankie sitting on the bed absorbed in a mini tea party with a mini pink teapot.

Thank you to Eileen, Sandra, Sheila, Sue, Sue, (Barney McGrew?!),Terra, Karen, Sam, Feverfew, Paul and Janey. All best wishes for 2016. x

And to you Sheila and your family, Downunderlings....ha ha I'm going to remember that term! Isnt it great we can catch up with them so easily....just the time difference....like you I'm usually desperate to crawl into bed or not ready to crawl out! X

Thanks Janey - yes, DownUnderlings is a great term for our Aussie family - coined by our Cornish son, Steve, who was with us for the Skype. You're right - we're lucky that it's so easy - but next time, I'm going to suggest we do it at a more civilised time! x
