plantsitting!

My friend is (hopefully fingers crossed) going to Majorca on Friday and asked if i would ‘plant sit’ for her so of course i said yes, round she came this morning with some Clematis and 2 pots of lillies, wheeling a wheelbarrow!

I just hope i don’t kill the things!!!
I had another parcel this morning i had ordered 3 clematis from the Daily Telegraph for £4.00, i really must stop buying Clematis! They are very young plants but very healthy looking with a good root system, they are ‘Niobe’ dark red, ‘Miss Bateman’ pink, and ‘General Siskorski’ pale blue, potted them up hope they will be as good as the others i have ordered like this.

I had a walk down the garden, sunny but very nippy!! Hope the frost doesn’t affect the flowers on the cherry tree, i just hope it gets fertilized, there are a lot of cherry trees round here if not succesful will have to plant another to be sure of some fruit.

Everything is really growing now, lots of green shoots everywhere looking forward to the summer!

Oh, what a responsibillity for you, look out for the dreaded Lily Beetle ! The Clematis look good, I ordered 6 from a Sunday paper about 8 years ago and am pleased to say they are all still thriving, one of them has remained a 'shorty' and never climbed very high ! It's pink and may be 'Lincoln Star', not sure now. Main problem I have is snails lurking on the fence behind them ... : o ( (

You're going to be busy with your plant sitting, SK! Hope they don't give you sleepless nights. Your new clematis look bigger than the ones I have just received from T&M, lots of roots though so hopefully they will be OK :)
