The secret life of Toffee the cat.

About a week ago Toffee (our cat) didn’t come in for his tea, now this is a cat that lives for eating! I immediatley sent a text to my neighbour who he visits on a daily basis, had she seen him? No she said she hadn’t not all day, well i knew he was around in the afternoon as i came across him having a snooze in the border near the window. He didn’t turn up at all that night or the next morning i was getting worried by this time he is a cat that is always around. 2 days later he was still missing and my daughter made some flyers to put round the neighbourhood, we posted them through doors and put one on the back window of the car one in the front room window and whilst i was at the butchers i happened to mention he had gone missing ‘Have you a poster with you ?’ the butcher asked, i have i said, bring it ere me duck and i’ll stick it up on the wall for you
I have been amazed at how many people knew Toffee too, people stopped me in the street to ask if that lovely ginger cat of mine had come back, a man who lives at the back of me rang to say he was sorry he hadn’t seen him lately as he slept in the bottom of his garden most days!!! Another neighbour at the back also rang to see if he was back as he missed him too!!! He was missing for 4 days and i had nearly given him up. As i sat having my morning cuppa thinking to myself not having another one i get too upset when they die or disappear, when lo and behold who should appear at the window on his hind legs begging to come in? Yep Toffee, looking very thin and very dusty!!!! I am pretty sure he had been shut in somewhere and maybe someone had been away and opened their shed/garage and out popped a ginger streak of fur!!! I am still surprised at the amount of people that know him and am now wondering what else he gets up to that we know nothing about!!!

Phew SK...thank goodness that had a happy ending! Don't they just scare you to bits?!
My friend's cat disappeared after someone else moved house & she was afraid Molly had jumped up in the van. I found her 6 weeks later at the top of the village in a wood. She was thin & a mess but remembered me & let me pick her up!
So very glad Toffee came home to you...he's a very handsome boy!

Phew what a relief Sewingkilla, bet he ate all day haha
my first dog Shep went missing for 6 weeks and we just gave up, thought he had been run over untill one morning at 7.30 we heard scratching and whining at the front door, I jumped the stairs and opened the door and there he was, he was well fed but there were scars on his feet and tummy, We thought he had been fighting or set upon by other dogs and someone took him in and looked after him and as soon as he was healed he came home..I would love to know but like you it was a guessing game,
Toffee is Gorgeous and im buzzing he's come home :)))

Nice he returned home, cats are curious and will venture into things, sounds he has been trapped some where, lol about his secret life, cats will always find some one to get a drink or sleep in the warm spots of peoples gardens.

So glad he turned up SK. You must have been worried sick. He is a handsome fellow isn't he?
My old cat Achmed went missing for 3 months when we moved to Kamloops. I had long given up on him with there being so many coyotes about and the highway just a couple of blocks away. But one day there he was in the driveway....I called him and he came right away. He was a bit thin but in good condition otherwise. He wouldn't go outside for quite some time after that. I often wondered if he tried to find his way back to our old home in Armstrong.

He's lovely SK so glad you had a happy ending they can easily get shut in because they go exploring. If they could talk we would worry about them even more.

Poor old Toffee!
Our Paddy quite often follows us into the garage without us realising and it can be a while before we realise! He doesn't make a fuss, though, he just sits and waits to be let out!

How did i miss this blog ??

Poor Toffee, it 'does' worry me when people leave their garages open and unattended because cats are very curious - as Morgana said - and they'll go and have a nosey around and end up getting shut in.

I'm glad he's safe and sound now though =^..^=
