Roses in my garden

After saying i wouldn’t have any Roses as i thought they were too much trouble i find i have quite a few lol!!! Nor are they as much trouble as i thought,

Golden Showers a climber, and Pink Perpetue also a climber, i have a few climbers to try and cover the fence along with Clematis, the Clematis haven’t done well this year i don’t know why unless the bad winter has affected them. the other roses i have are,

‘Iceberg’ climber and ‘Schoolgirl’, climber. Iceberg is a good one for lots of flowers on one stem lightly scented its very pretty. Schoolgirl is more ‘blousy’ i think but lovely none the less!

This one is ‘Danse de Feu’, lovely rosebuds and scented also a climber.
The others i have are not yet in flower, i have 2 ‘Cliff Richard’ 1 ‘Scarlett’ and an un-named white and a ‘Ruby Wedding’ Also ‘Compassion’ that one was from David Austin and is a lovely healthy plant well worth the money.
So as you can see for someone who didn’t want any roses i sure have a few!!!

Your roses are lovely SW! You're looking after them well too, they are beautifully healthy! I think you've been converted!

You have some lovely blooms Sk, I think all the roses are doing really well this year, you are like my youngest daughter, she always said no to roses in her garden, however they moved house last Oct. and now has inherited lots of them in the new garden, she goes around daily smelling each bush as it comes into flower and has decided they are amazing, lol...

Pink Perpetue looks gorgeous, Sk. I'm like you, only had one 'patio Rose' for years and now have climbers, a rambler and bush Roses. Don't know why I didn't have some before! Arthur Bell is a lovely, yellow climber with an amazing scent. Not that I'm trying to add to your collection ... lol!

Lovely roses. I agree this is a good year for roses.
Even my roses which in most years suffer badly from disease, they are doing fine........ at the moment.

Two of your varieties are on my wish list too....Ruby Wedding and Compassion. I will be ordering those soon (in advance) so I will be sure to have them when they become available for the next growing season.

Your roses are so healthy and you have a great variety. I am pleased for you they are doing so well, changing your ideas completely about having roses in the garden :)
