Opposite borders weeded - hopefully

Not too hot today so I cracked on with the weeding in 2 narrow borders between the side of the house and the access drive to the Old vicarage Nursing home.

This side is less shady especially in the summer but it doesn’t get direct sun in the winter. I am hoping the Iris will be ok in this side.

This side is always in shade except for late afternoon in summer, but it suits lots of lovely plants like Vancouveria hexandra and Saurma henryi.
Also seems to be ideal for self sown Sycamores too! Managed to remove 6 this afternoon.

The far end of this border is coming into leaf nicely, with Mukdenia in flower too.

On the fence I have Clematis Constance and she is full of flowers.

The Dicentra or Lamprocapnos as it is now called, is the best it has been for years.

The Calthea palustris is flowering her socks off too in the corner of the pond.

Lots more still to do, hopefully the rain will hold off during the day tomorrow.

My OH was in the garage working on a 1926 Triumph motorbike. To be honest I prefer him there as he isn't very carewhere he puts his feet ;o)

Oh well done you! What a grand feeling it is to stand back and see a transformation!
Your photo reminded me about Dicentras. I ought to have two and neither has appeared! Do they have a limited life? The older one must have been around 15 years old
That's a great clump of marsh marigolds- a real prizewinner!

What a feeling of satisfaction clearing borders gives! Ours are rock-hard at the moment, I can barely get a fork or spade in there! You have a lot of plants I have never heard of, so I shall look them up. These are cheering spring plants, lovely colours.

You are doing a grand job Eileen, its been a great weekend for gardening, your Dicentra is amazing, mine has only just begun to show, I was beginning to think I'd lost it again....

Thank you for the comments. It is one of those jobs that does give satisfaction. I have continued to remove sycamore saplings from the border further back in the back garden, beyond the conservatory.

Great job there, Eileen! Looks very smart and ready for the season ahead! Loving your blooming shrubs! Lots of floriferous colours!
We've had to water the front and back a couple of times this week, it's so dry.

thank you Rose though my 'Valentine' isn't as happy as the normal and white ones.

I've had to water every other night this week Kate, the wind is so drying. As for the plants in pots that is a daily job.
