Now you're not going to get addicted to using this beast are you? I've known people fall under the wicked spell of new machines before! It'll soon be a case of "if it moves - shred it!"

Put a photo of your garden on in a couple of weeks, just so we can all see how much is left of it! LOL!!

Sandra - I found (by trial and error) there are some things you shouldn't put in a shredder - either they have very stringy growth (eg cotoneasters) that wrap around the blades OR have very resinous foliage that clogs it up (eg conifers, escallonia). Just a friendly warning :-)

great job sandra, dont get carried away or you wont have a garden lol, i like the white spiky petal shrub, ive seen it in yellow but love it in white, didnt know it came in white, didnt realise how big your place was, is it your nursery as well? looks great lots of space,,you must work so hard to keep it all together, well done x

Merfyn...short back and sides me thinks......

Andrew thanks for the warning. buddliah doesent chop up as fine as hebe. didnt have any wrap arounds but there were a few long crushed bits in the bucket'

Sanra the spiley white flower is myrtle. it smell lovely too. we have one and a half acres.....the nursery and stock take up aboout a third of it. then theres the house polytunel and huge shed. the rest is gardens, grass (which if i had my way id pave over most of it,,,,,,,,) and lots of paths. its a lobour of love......;-))

ohh Ian i could do even more damage...with one of those..this one is called a silent shredder..it just has a wheel turning round inside it but im very pleased with what it does. if stuff is too big for the shredder it can go on the fire in my shed.

Re- Andrews advice,I know of a shredder that was nearly ruined by Phormium leaves.

That's interesting, i hadn't stopped to think that certain foliage etc. could affect it.
It's logical.

i can see that. i did try a couple of dryed ones in it and they just went straight through. it just makes the job so much easier.. i expext you have an industrial one at work?
