Well...this is where it gets a bit technical San. Begonias have male and female flowers....the male flowers are the big showy ones, while the female ones are the smaller, single flowers following behind... If you pinch out the female flowers, when they are in bud, the male flowers will grow bigger. Personally, I can't bear to do it...lol

I know what you mean, I sometimes get impatient and oust the poor plant out of its home but not before finding it a nice new place to quietly wind down lol,

Keep the pansies going as long as poss, then put the basket somewhere shady over the summer, (to keep the trailing ivy going strong) and by autumn you can replant it again with new pansies. Meanwhile, have a "summer" basket planted up and growing on, ready to replace it...that's what I do!

You'll love it San...agapanthus are gorgeous. Try feeding it every week with tomato food until it flowers...and be prepared to fall in love...;)

Looking forward to seeing this open, I'm growing Oriental Poppies for 1st time this year, mines called Pattys Plum, only 2 buds on 1 and 3 on other, but hope more next year.

I thought it was agapanthus too :) I have a plant that hasn't bloomed for a while so I transplanted it and noticed a flower spike came up a week later and it looks very similar to this. I don't remember having an agapanthus in a pot though... we'll see when the flower opens :)
