Wild Blackberries

Myself husband and our three kiddies all went to our local park for a kick about with the ball on the fields and a play on the climbing frames swings and slide and on our way back to the car we found lots of ripe blackberries. We decided to collect some to put in a pie for after our dinner. We got 600g in about 15 mins. We could have taken more if we’d have needed more! I made a quick double crust pastry and tossed the washed berries in some flour and sugar and ‘MY GOSH’ you just can beat fresh blackberries in a pie and softened icecream. MAGIC!

The finished artical.

Must go back again and collect some more berries soon.

I've been keeping a watchful eye on "my" blackberry bush everytime we pass it, but I think this years' hot dry summer hasn't done them any favours - they won't be the soft sweet fruit I remember picking in Essex - they still look hard and green!

Well, it was delicious. Our dishes were empty. I may have started a little trend down at the park. People walking by looked extremely interested in what we were doing with all the berries. I just hope they save a couple for the birds.
