This afternoon the sun was out so I took a walk down to the datcha…our “Winter” Garden.

The place looks a bit bleak.

I wonder if a hedgehog is sleeping under the pile of branches?.

The pink roses still look nice in the snow.

What are those footprints?….can anybody help me with this please…..

it looks as though they have jumped down from the wall at the back.

it must be a long-jumping athlete or a kangaroo?? can you explain 'datcha' please?

They look like rabbit prints to me. I like your globe though not as much as you brave little roses.

Hi Stickitoffee, if you google "datcha" you will see it means garden or weekend house....it is a term used in Russia and eastern europe, and I just thought it was an appropriate name to call it...although I have no connections to Russia or easter europe.

Hallo Heron, I also thought it could be a rabbit and as the place backs on to a small wood so this is a possibility. I must google it...hihi.

Its a lovely name , I have to say it looks very similar to ours, one good thing about snow, it does hide a multitude of sins, your birthplace is white over Rogi, has been for a week now.....

Your datcha looks interesting. If it is a Winter garden do you spend time there or is it just a concept? Looks too cold to me. lol

Hallo Linda. With the snow there is not a lot that I can do there at the moment, so I just go down for an hour or so, make a cup of coffee, put the heating on, read the paper etc, but as to staying there overnight at moment, no. Home is only about a 5 minute walk away and it is much warmer there.

@Lincslass, I phoned my sister-in-law who lives near Uppingham yesterday and she said they were more or less cut off from the rest of the world for a couple of days.

Ah! I seem to remember you getting this home from home in the summer. I like the idea of the coffee and newspaper.

Hi Rogi the Datcha looks nice in the snow, could pass for Santa's workshop. Don't know what the prints are have you tried googling abdominal snowman. LOL

Agree with Linda! Coffee and newspaper is definitely the order of the day for me! I have an appointment at mid-day in town, which is a 15 min. walk, but apart from that, I think I'll just stay indoors and keep warm! Hope you are at home Linda and not stuck in your car on some dreadful stretch of road!!
